Of course there are the powerhouse tech hubs such as the Bay (San Francisco, Silicon Valley, San Jose) and New York City. But innovation is happening everywhere and across all sectors of technology.
In the past ten years have emerged new top-tier tech cities who have invested in infrastructure and entertainment to attract the best companies and talent, modeled after Silicon Valley. There is the “Silicon Hills” (Austin), the “Silicon Slopes” (Utah) and the “Silicon Forrest” (Portland), all of which have carved out a strong tech niche for their cities. All of these cities are now fighting tooth and nail to win the Powerball of tech: Amazon’s second HQs.
